Exempts home addresses, telephone numbers, dates of birth, and photographs of current or former personnel in an agency's office of inspector general or internal audit department from public records disclosure requirements, if the personnel have made reasonable efforts to protect such information from other public sources.

Extends the exemption to spouses and children of such personnel, including their names, home addresses, telephone numbers, dates of birth, places of employment, and names and locations of schools and day care facilities they attend.

Applies the exemption only if personnel have made reasonable efforts to protect the information from being accessible through other publicly available means.

Sunset provision requires the exemption to be reviewed and reenacted by the Legislature by October 2, 2021, or it will automatically repeal.

Establishes that the exemption is based on public necessity, citing threats and physical danger that investigators and their families may face from subjects of audits and investigations that could result in criminal prosecution or employment termination.
