Driver license applications, ID card applications, renewals, and address updates submitted to the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles would automatically serve as voter registration applications

Applications must include a voter registration component with eligibility requirements, signature consent explanation, and an option to decline registration

The Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles must transmit voter registration information to the statewide voter registration system within 24 hours of receipt

Supervisors of elections must notify applicants of the process to decline registration or adopt a political party affiliation; applicants who do not respond within 21 days are automatically registered

Applicants who do not select a political party affiliation will be registered without party affiliation
