Changes mental and nervous disorder coverage from optional to mandatory in group health insurance policies in Florida, eliminating the requirement for additional premiums.

Increases minimum inpatient mental health benefits from 30 days to 45 days per benefit year and allows unused inpatient benefits to be transferred to outpatient or residential treatment benefits.

Revises outpatient benefits limit from $1,000 to 30 hours of consultations with licensed physicians, psychologists, mental health counselors, marriage and family therapists, and clinical social workers.

Increases partial hospitalization benefits limit from 30 days to 121 days of inpatient hospitalization costs per benefit year when partial hospitalization or combined inpatient and partial hospitalization services are used.

Takes effect July 1, 2016.
