Expands mandatory continuing education for health care practitioners licensed under chapters covering medicine, osteopathic medicine, nursing, dentistry, midwifery, psychology, and clinical social work to include child abuse identification and reporting alongside existing domestic violence training

Increases the required continuing education course from 2 hours to 3 hours to cover both domestic violence (as defined in s. 741.28) and child abuse (as defined in s. 827.03)

Changes the training requirement from every third biennial relicensure cycle to every biennial relicensure or recertification period

Course content must address screening procedures for identifying victims and perpetrators of both domestic violence and child abuse, and instruction on referring patients to appropriate community resources including child protection services

Effective date of July 1, 2016
