Florida Senate recognizes the second Invictus Games, an international adaptive sporting event for wounded, injured, and sick active duty military servicemembers and veterans, held May 8-12, 2016, in Orlando at Disney's ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex

The 2016 Games will bring together more than 500 competitors from 15 nations (Afghanistan, Australia, Canada, Denmark, Estonia, France, Georgia, Germany, Iraq, Italy, Jordan, the Netherlands, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and the United States) competing in 10 sporting events

The Invictus Games uses sports to inspire physical, psychological, and social recovery and rehabilitation of injured military servicemembers and veterans

The resolution acknowledges that participants have sacrificed their health and well-being to defend their nations and recognizes their unconquered spirit

Florida is recognized as the most military-friendly and veteran-friendly state in the nation, making it suitable to host this event
