• Department of Health may process temporary certificate applications using a personal identification number instead of a social security number for applicants who are not citizens or residents of the country.

• Visiting physicians may obtain temporary medical certificates for instructional purposes through invitations from plastic surgery/medical training programs affiliated with medical schools, teaching hospitals, or educational symposiums sponsored by recognized medical societies.

• Medical faculty certificate holders may practice at specialty-licensed children's hospitals affiliated with accredited medical schools, and medical directors of such hospitals may request physicians provide medical care and treatment in connection with education.

• Adds Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida to the list of eligible institutions where faculty members can receive a medical faculty certificate, with a maximum of 30 certificate holders per institution (10 for Mayo Clinic).

• Medical assistants must receive certification from a program accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies, a national or state medical association, or an entity approved by the board.
