Amends Florida Statutes section 943.1718 to require law enforcement agencies with body camera programs to establish policies permitting officers to review recorded footage before writing reports or providing statements.

Officers may review body camera footage upon their own initiative or request for any event arising within the scope of their official duties.

Exception allows policies to not apply when officers have an inherent duty to immediately disclose information necessary to secure an active crime scene or identify suspects or witnesses.

Effective date is July 1, 2017.
