Amends section 627.6131 to prohibit health insurers from retroactively denying claims due to insured ineligibility at any time if the insurer verified eligibility at treatment and provided an authorization number; applies to policies entered into or renewed on or after January 1, 2018.

Prohibits health insurers from retroactively denying claims more than 1 year after the date of claim payment.

Amends section 641.3155 to apply the same retroactive denial prohibitions to health maintenance organizations regarding subscriber ineligibility.

Exempts Medicaid managed care plans pursuant to part IV of chapter 409 from the health maintenance organization restrictions.

Takes effect July 1, 2017.
