Authorizes physician assistants and advanced registered nurse practitioners to execute certificates for involuntary examinations under the Baker Act, joining physicians, clinical psychologists, psychiatric nurses, mental health counselors, marriage and family therapists, and clinical social workers in this authority.

Defines "advanced registered nurse practitioner" as a person licensed in Florida to practice professional nursing and certified in advanced or specialized nursing practice.

Allows certificates to be executed only after examination of a person within the preceding 48 hours, with findings documented and observations stated in the certificate.

Updates cross-references throughout Florida Statutes (sections 39.407, 394.495, 394.496, 394.9085, 409.972, and 744.2007) to reflect the addition of physician assistants and advanced registered nurse practitioners to applicable professional definitions.

Takes effect July 1, 2017.
