Amends Florida Statute 775.087 to add a new offense reclassification provision for crimes committed while possessing a firearm or weapon capable of holding 10 or more rounds of ammunition without reloading, or while possessing a firearm and more than one magazine for that firearm.

First-degree felonies are reclassified to life felonies; second-degree felonies to first-degree felonies; third-degree felonies to second-degree felonies; first-degree misdemeanors to third-degree felonies; and second-degree misdemeanors to first-degree misdemeanors.

Reclassified felony offenses are ranked one level above their original ranking under Florida's sentencing guidelines and sentencing cap law for purposes of determining sentences and incentive gain-time eligibility.

The reclassification applies in addition to any other offense classifications provided by law.

Takes effect October 1, 2017.
