Creates Section 744.2111, Florida Statutes, establishing confidentiality protections for information held by the Department of Elderly Affairs in connection with complaints and investigations related to professional guardians.

Exempts from public disclosure personal identifying information of complainants and wards, all personal health and financial records of wards, and all photographs and video recordings, unless required by court order.

Maintains confidentiality of all investigation-related information until the investigation is completed or ceases to be active, while allowing the department to share information with law enforcement agencies, other regulatory agencies, and circuit court clerks as needed.

Applies retroactively to all documents received by the department in connection with complaints before, on, or after July 1, 2017.

Subject to the Open Government Sunset Review Act and automatically repeals October 2, 2022, unless reenacted by the Legislature; effective July 1, 2017.
