Authorizes the Department of Children and Families to implement the Forensic Hospital Diversion Pilot Program in four Florida counties: Okaloosa, Duval, Broward, and Miami-Dade, each in conjunction with their respective judicial circuits.

Programs provide competency-restoration and community-reintegration services in either locked residential treatment facilities or community-based facilities based on public safety considerations, individual needs, and available resources.

Pilot programs are modeled after the Miami-Dade Forensic Alternative Center with adaptations for local needs and resources in each county.

Effective date is July 1, 2017.
