HB 1055 Summary

• Excludes utility work on established or to-be-established rights-of-way or corridors from the definition of "development" under Florida's local government development agreement and environmental resource permit statutes.

• Exempts the creation or termination of distribution and transmission corridors from being classified as development activities.

• Requires consideration of variance standards under section 403.201 when certifying electrical power plants and transmission line corridors.

• Clarifies that the Public Service Commission retains exclusive jurisdiction over requiring transmission lines to be located underground under chapter 366.

• Takes effect upon becoming law.
