CS/HB 1387 Summary

• Department of Transportation must ensure reasonable and practicably feasible entry and exit points on express lanes and undertake efforts to expand these access points while meeting operational performance goals.

• Effective July 1, 2018, drivers whose average travel speed in an express lane falls below 40 miles per hour shall be charged the minimum express lane toll (Department of Transportation) or the general toll lane toll amount plus 25 cents (Florida Turnpike Enterprise).

• Florida Turnpike Enterprise must ensure reasonable and practicably feasible entry and exit points on its express lanes and undertake efforts to expand these access points while meeting operational performance goals.

• Extends the period for programming turnpike toll and bond financed commitments in Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach Counties from June 30, 2037 to June 30, 2017 in the tentative work program.

• Bill takes effect July 1, 2017.
