Board of Supervisors increases from 3 members to 5 members effective November 6, 2018, with each member required to own real property in the district.

Supervisors must be elected by registered voters residing in the district to 4-year terms beginning in 2018, with the Governor authorized to appoint supervisors to fill vacancies until the next general election.

Board members are entitled to $5.00 per diem for attending meetings (not to exceed $25.00 per month) plus reimbursement for travel and other necessary expenses pursuant to Florida Statutes.

Board is authorized to levy non-ad valorem assessments and maintenance taxes pursuant to chapter 298, Florida Statutes, removing the previous $30.10 per acre cap on maintenance taxes.

Chapter 83-455, Laws of Florida is repealed, and the act takes effect upon becoming law.
