Exempts personal identifying information of persons issued assault weapon or large capacity ammunition magazine certificates from public records disclosure requirements under Florida law and state constitution.

Allows disclosure of exempt information only to the Department of Law Enforcement for background checks and to law enforcement agencies conducting criminal or authorized investigations.

Subject to sunset review under the Open Government Sunset Review Act and automatically repeals on October 2, 2022, unless the legislature reenacts it.

Establishes public necessity finding that disclosure could enable theft of weapons or magazines and could be used to harass law-abiding citizens exercising Second Amendment rights.

Takes effect contingent on HB 167 or similar legislation being adopted in the same legislative session and becoming law.
