Removes the requirement that students participating in interscholastic sports at the junior varsity or varsity level for two full seasons must pass a competency test on personal fitness with a score of "C" or better to satisfy the one-credit physical education requirement.

Interscholastic sport participation at the junior varsity or varsity level for two full seasons now automatically satisfies the one-credit physical education requirement without needing to pass a competency test.

Maintains existing alternative options for satisfying physical education credits, including marching band completion (one semester with a "C" or better), dance classes, and R.O.T.C. classes (2 years).

Prohibits district school boards from requiring physical education credit to be taken during 9th grade year.

Takes effect July 1, 2017.
