• Authorizes the St. Lucie County School District to pay $1.5 million to Lillian Beauchamp, personal representative of the estate of 9-year-old Aaron Beauchamp, who died in a school bus crash on March 26, 2012.

• Compensates for wrongful death resulting from the district's negligence when bus driver Albert Hazen, assigned an unfamiliar route, turned directly into the path of an oncoming tractor-trailer at the intersection of Okeechobee Road and Midway Road.

• Establishes that the $1.5 million payment represents sole compensation for all present and future claims arising from Aaron Beauchamp's death.

• Caps attorney fees at $300,000, lobbying fees at $75,000, and costs and expenses at $4,246.02 from the $1.5 million award.
