Prohibits legislators and statewide elected officers from personally representing clients for compensation before any state government body or agency (except judicial tribunals) for 2 years following vacation of office.

Reduces the post-service restriction period from 6 years to 2 years for former legislators and statewide elected officers.

Deletes the existing prohibition preventing former legislators from acting as lobbyists before executive branch agencies, agency officials, or employees for 2 years after leaving office.

Maintains the 2-year restriction for appointed state officers representing clients before the specific government body or agency where they previously served.

Takes effect July 1, 2017, and applies only to individuals who held legislative or statewide elected office at any time after November 8, 2016.
