HB 7093 Summary

• Amends s. 119.071, F.S. to revise exemptions from public record requirements for personal identifying and location information of specified agency personnel, their spouses, and children

• Removes redundant social security number exemptions and expands exemptions to include names of spouses and children of law enforcement, prosecutors, and certain other governmental personnel

• Adds dates of birth as exempt information for general magistrates, special magistrates, judges of compensation claims, administrative law judges, and child support enforcement hearing officers without requiring proof of reasonable protection efforts

• Removes scheduled repeal dates for certain exemptions related to law enforcement, firefighters, justices, judges, prosecutors, and other specified personnel, making them permanent unless future legislatures repeal them

• Effective October 1, 2017; provides statements of public necessity citing threats to personnel and their families, identity theft risks, and need for uniformity among agency personnel exemptions
