Appropriates $1.7 million from the School Board of Hillsborough County to the Sean R. McNamee Irrevocable Trust as compensation for injuries sustained by Sean McNamee due to negligence by school employees.

Compensates Sean McNamee for traumatic brain injury with depressed temporal bone fracture, epidural and subdural hemorrhage, and resulting permanent cognitive changes and epileptic seizure disorder sustained on October 9, 2013, at Wharton High School football practice.

School Board negligence included improper evaluation of potential concussion, leaving student unattended, failure to notify parents, and failure to summon emergency medical care after student struck head on improperly placed paint machine.

Combined with the $300,000 statutory limit already paid under Florida Statutes § 768.28, the $1.7 million award provides sole compensation for all present and future claims arising from the incident.

Limits attorney fees to a maximum of 25 percent of the $1.7 million awarded under this act.
