Amends Florida Statutes section 464.012 to modify the authority of certified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNAs) regarding anesthesia type determination.

Changes the approval requirement for CRNA protocols from "approved by" the medical staff to "established in collaboration with" the medical staff of the facility where anesthetic services are performed.

Allows CRNAs to determine the appropriate type of anesthesia "in collaboration with" rather than requiring "consent of" the responsible physician, within the framework of the established protocol.

Effective date is July 1, 2017.
