Exempts entities that produce and provide or sell solar-based renewable energy from the definition of "public utility" under Florida law.

Applies only to renewable energy production facilities with a solar-based source as defined in s. 377.803(4) and capacity of 2.5 megawatts or less.

Exemption covers entities providing energy to users located on the property of such renewable energy production facilities.

Effective date: July 1, 2017.
