Permits concealed weapons licensees to temporarily surrender firearms to courthouse security or management personnel for storage while inside courthouses.

Defines "courthouse" as a building where trials and hearings are conducted on a regular basis, or the relevant portion of a building used primarily for hearings, trials, and judicial chambers.

Preempts local ordinances, administrative rules, orders, or regulations that conflict with the courthouse firearm definition or surrender procedures to state law.

Subjects persons, judges, agencies, municipalities, or other entities that enact or enforce conflicting local firearm restrictions to civil fines and removal from office by the Governor under s. 790.33.

Takes effect July 1, 2017.
