Study of Alternative High School Assessment: Commissioner of Education must contract for independent study to determine whether a nationally recognized high school assessment can replace the Florida Standards Assessment and Algebra I end-of-course assessment, with findings due to Governor and Legislature by January 1, 2018.

School Board Member Visitation Rights: Individual school board members may visit any district or charter school in their district at any time without prior notice, must sign in/out and wear identification, and cannot be restricted by principals, superintendents, or other officials.

Autism Spectrum Disorder Treatment Absences: Parents may request and receive permission for student absences for scheduled therapy or medical treatment for autism spectrum disorder provided by licensed health care practitioners.

Reduced End-of-Course Assessment Requirements: Eliminates mandatory Geometry, Algebra II, United States History, and Civics end-of-course assessments; keeps only Algebra I and Biology I as required statewide EOC assessments; allows nonelectronic assessment options.

Free-Play Recess Requirement: School districts must provide at least 100 minutes of supervised free-play recess per week for kindergarten through grade 5 students, with minimum 20 consecutive minutes per day.
