Expands public records exemption to include personal identifying and location information of former firefighters, in addition to current firefighters certified under section 633.408, Florida Statutes.

Adds exemption for names of spouses and children of both current and former firefighters from public records requirements and Article I, Section 24(a) of the State Constitution.

Includes exemption for home addresses, telephone numbers, dates of birth, photographs, and places of employment of spouses and children of current and former firefighters, as well as names and locations of schools and day care facilities attended by their children.

Subjects the exemption for names of spouses and children to the Open Government Sunset Review Act with repeal scheduled for October 2, 2022, unless the Legislature reviews and reenacts the exemption.

Effective date: October 1, 2017.
