SB 1114 Summary

• Removes restrictions on state agencies, local governments, and managed care plans from expending public funds for organizations that own, operate, or are affiliated with abortion clinics.

• Eliminates the previous requirement that public funds could only be used for abortion clinics if abortions were limited to cases of rape, incest, or medical necessity to preserve the pregnant woman's life or prevent serious physical impairment.

• Removes the requirement that the Agency for Health Care Administration inspect at least 50 percent of patient records generated since a clinic's last inspection during license inspections.

• Takes effect July 1, 2017.
