Effective July 1, 2022, private prekindergarten providers must employ instructors with an associate or higher degree in child development, replacing the current requirement for a Child Development Associate credential.

Effective July 1, 2022, prekindergarten instructors must complete 20 hours of professional development including emergent literacy and student performance standards training courses.

Removes associate's degree in child development as an alternative credential option for prekindergarten instructors, requiring instead a bachelor's degree in an unrelated field with at least 6 credit hours in early childhood education and 480 hours of teaching or child care experience.

Requires summer prekindergarten instructors to be certified teachers holding a valid Florida educator certificate, eliminating the option to hold alternative educational credentials.

Conforms references in the articulation agreement statute to reflect changes to credentialing requirements for child development associate credentials.
