SB 1276 Summary

• Prohibits Santa Fe College Board of Trustees from increasing its transportation access fee effective July 1, 2017.

• Freezes student fees at Florida College System institutions effective July 1, 2017, including tuition, out-of-state fees, differential out-of-state fees, activity and service fees, financial aid fees, technology fees, capital improvement fees, user fees, service charges, distance learning course user fees, and transient student fees at amounts established as of June 30, 2017.

• Requires Florida College System Chancellor to submit annual reports by November 1 detailing distance learning course user fee revenues to the Governor and Legislature.

• Freezes student fees at state universities effective July 1, 2017, including athletic fees, financial aid fees, Capital Improvement Trust Fund fees, activity and service fees, health fees, technology fees, and fees under specified categories, while removing provisions allowing Board of Governors to establish new fees.

• Requires state universities to waive 25 percent of specified fees for graduate students holding at least a 0.25 full-time equivalent appointment as graduate assistants or associates.
