Expands firearm prohibition to include temporary and final injunctions against domestic violence, stalking, cyberstalking, repeat violence, dating violence, and sexual violence.

Creates requirement for law enforcement officers to take temporary custody of firearms at scenes of domestic violence, stalking, cyberstalking, or repeat/dating/sexual violence incidents when probable cause exists and firearm is in plain view or discovered during lawful search.

Requires law enforcement to provide firearm owners with information on retrieval process and safe storage during proceedings; owners may retake possession within 14 days after proceeding concludes unless ordered to surrender under firearm prohibition statute.

Adds texting to list of violations for injunctions against domestic violence and foreign protection orders.

Effective July 1, 2017.
