Department of Juvenile Justice must develop and maintain updated information and materials about resources and services for parents and legal custodians who are victims of domestic violence committed by children, in collaboration with organizations specializing in family and domestic violence.

Resources and services described must include those under chapters 39 and 985, covering prevention, diversion, detention, alternative placements, and domestic violence services, with guidance on accessing local resources.

Department must post information on its website and distribute materials to domestic violence centers, law enforcement agencies, courts, and other appropriate organizations for public distribution.

Law enforcement officers' basic skills training must include a minimum of 6 hours on handling domestic violence cases, including training on child-to-parent domestic violence issues.

The act takes effect July 1, 2017.
