Raises the compulsory school attendance age requirement from 16 to 18 years old for all children in Florida.

Requires parents to receive notification that they will forfeit state financial assistance benefits if they request termination of their child's school enrollment.

Eliminates discretionary authority allowing students to take the high school equivalency examination between ages 16 and 18; requires candidates to be at least 18 years old on the examination date.

Removes provisions requiring school districts to notify juvenile justice education program students who reach age 16 of compulsory attendance laws and high school equivalency examination options.

Takes effect July 1, 2017.
