CS/HB 29 - Don Hahnfeldt Veteran and Military Family Opportunity Act

• Creates licensure and qualification protections for National Guard and Armed Forces Reserves members whose training is interrupted or delayed by military service, allowing boards to accept military service training as equivalent to civilian requirements.

• Waives initial and renewal licensing fees across numerous professions (health care practitioners, insurance agents, real estate professionals, funeral directors, security personnel, and many others) for active duty members, honorably discharged veterans, military spouses, and surviving spouses.

• Eliminates prelicensure coursework requirements for military members, veterans, and military spouses applying for certain insurance licenses and allows recognition of military-issued credentials for funeral, cemetery, and direct disposal services licensure.

• Authorizes Florida Virtual School to give priority enrollment to children of active duty military members not stationed in Florida; increases veteran training grant funding from 12 to 48 months; and designates March 25 annually as "Medal of Honor Day."

• Expands education benefits including waiving teacher certification exam fees for military members and veterans, allowing retired military officers to teach junior ROTC without certification, and requiring instruction on veteran and Medal of Honor recipient sacrifices in schools.
