Prohibits health insurers and health maintenance organizations from requiring insureds to obtain prescription drugs for treatment of HIV infection exclusively from mail order pharmacies, unless the drug is subject to FDA restricted distribution or requires special handling.

Prevents insurers from imposing higher copayments or different conditions on insureds who choose retail pharmacies over mail order pharmacies if the retail pharmacy agrees to the same terms and accepts equal reimbursement rates.

Requires health insurers and HMOs offering mail order pharmacy coverage to disclose in outline of coverage documents that insureds may obtain chronic illness drugs from retail pharmacies and exclusive mail order use is not required (except for excluded drugs).

Does not apply to grandfathered health plans or certain benefits defined in Florida Statutes sections 627.6562(3)(b), (c), (d), and (e).

Takes effect July 1, 2018.
