Requires the Division of State Fire Marshal to establish mandatory training courses on cancer and mental health risks in the fire service as part of firefighter certification requirements.

Training must cover cancer and mental health awareness, prevention, mitigation, and treatment, including lifestyle, environmental, inherited, and occupational risk factors.

Mandates that all firefighters obtaining a Firefighter Certificate of Compliance, Volunteer Firefighter Certificate of Completion, or Special Certificate of Compliance complete the cancer and mental health training.

Emphasizes appropriate behavior, attitude, and cultural changes within the fire service, and requires certified firefighters have access to this training.

Authorizes the Division of State Fire Marshal to adopt rules for education and training related to cancer and mental health risks within the fire service; effective July 1, 2018.
