Licensed insurers and agents may give insureds, prospective insureds, or others advertising gifts including merchandise, goods, wares, store gift cards, gift certificates, event tickets, anti-fraud or loss mitigation services, or other items with a total value of $100 or less per insured or prospective insured in any calendar year.

Licensed insurers and agents are authorized to make charitable contributions as defined in Internal Revenue Code Section 170(c) on behalf of insureds or prospective insureds of up to $100 per insured or prospective insured in any calendar year.

Title insurance agents, title insurance agencies, and title insurers are prohibited from giving insureds, prospective insureds, or others any article of merchandise having a value exceeding $25 and are not subject to the $100 limit applied to other licensed insurers.

The act takes effect July 1, 2018.
