Amends Florida Statutes section 119.071 to exempt direct business e-mail addresses of current justices and judges from public records disclosure requirements.

Exemption applies to current justices of the Supreme Court, district court of appeal judges, circuit court judges, and county court judges.

Exemption sunsets October 2, 2023, subject to the Open Government Sunset Review Act unless the Legislature reenacts it.

Legislature finds that disclosure of judicial e-mail addresses could result in ex parte communications regarding pending litigation, creating recusal risks and negatively affecting judicial efficiency and court schedules.

Public may still contact justices and judges through their judicial assistants via e-mail; effective date is July 1, 2018.
