Increases the property tax exemption for widows, widowers, blind persons, and totally and permanently disabled persons from $500 to $5,000 in property value.

Applies the exemption to bona fide Florida residents who are certified as totally and permanently disabled by a state-licensed physician, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, or the Social Security Administration.

Amendment takes effect for tax years beginning on or after January 1, 2019.

Act takes effect upon becoming law.
