Creates section 381.933, Florida Statutes, requiring facilities performing mammography to send a summary of the mammography report to each patient in accordance with federal regulations (21 C.F.R. s. 900.12(c))

Requires facilities to include a specific notice in the mammography report summary if a patient has heterogeneously or extremely dense breasts, informing the patient that dense breast tissue is found in approximately 50 percent of women and may make detection of abnormalities more difficult and increase breast cancer risk

Specifies that the notice requirement does not create any duty, standard of care, or legal obligation beyond providing the required notice, and does not require notices inconsistent with the federal Mammography Quality Standards Act

Repeals this section on June 30, 2023

Takes effect July 1, 2018
