Each school district must provide instruction in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and automated external defibrillator use as part of the physical education curriculum or another required curriculum.

All students must study and practice CPR psychomotor skills at least once before graduating from high school.

Instruction must be based on programs established by the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or another nationally recognized program using current evidence-based emergency cardiovascular care guidelines.

Students with disabilities as defined in s. 1007.02 are exempt from the CPR instruction requirements.

The act takes effect July 1, 2018.
