Creates the Back-the-Blue Law Enforcement Assistance Program within the Florida Department of Law Enforcement to provide awards to local law enforcement agencies for training support

Establishes a Law Enforcement Assistance Commission composed of the FDLE executive director (or designee) as chair, plus two sheriffs and two police chiefs appointed by the Governor

Governor-appointed commission members serve 4-year terms, with initial staggered appointments of 2-year terms for one sheriff and one police chief

Appropriates $500,000 in nonrecurring funds for the 2018-2019 fiscal year to fund the program

Effective date of July 1, 2018
