Creates Florida Statutes section 828.131 establishing requirements for evacuating domestic companion animals and service animals during emergency evacuation orders.

Makes it unlawful for owners or persons in custody of domestic companion or service animals to knowingly leave them outdoors and unattended when an evacuation has been ordered due to weather or other emergency conditions.

Requires animals be evacuated with their owner when possible, or alternatively be delivered to a licensed kennel, shelter, pound, temporary emergency animal shelter, or suitable animal care facility, or secured in an indoor area providing proper shelter.

Establishes violations as noncriminal violations punishable under section 775.083, and preserves the authority of law enforcement officers, certified animal control officers, and animal welfare organizations to aid or take custody of animals in distress.

Effective date is July 1, 2018.
