Repeals section 478.44 relating to the Electrolysis Council and removes requirement that the Board of Medicine operate with council assistance in establishing electrolysis standards

Requires licensed electrologists who use laser or pulsed-light devices for hair removal or reduction procedures to obtain certification from a nationally recognized electrology organization

Amends examination requirements to clarify that applicants must pass written or approved national examinations testing knowledge of electrology practice, professional skills, and judgment

Revises disciplinary provisions to reference the correct statutory definition of electrolysis (permanent hair removal) in violations and penalty sections

Takes effect October 1, 2018
