Increases minimum state attorney costs from $50 to $100 per case when a misdemeanor or criminal traffic offense is charged.

Increases minimum state attorney costs from $100 to $200 per case when a felony offense is charged, including violations of probation or community control.

Courts retain authority to set higher cost amounts upon showing sufficient proof of higher costs incurred.

Recovered costs must be deposited into the State Attorneys Revenue Trust Fund for actual expenses in investigating and prosecuting criminal cases, including employee salaries.

Reenacts section 985.032(2) to incorporate amendments for delinquency cases and takes effect July 1, 2018.
