Amends s. 39.3065, Florida Statutes to add Walton County Sheriff to the list of sheriffs responsible for conducting all child protective investigations in their respective counties, effective fiscal year 2018-2019

Walton County Sheriff joins Pasco County, Manatee County, Broward County, and Pinellas County sheriffs in assuming full responsibility for child protective investigations within their counties

State funding appropriated to Walton County Sheriff for investigations shall equal the amount that would have been provided if the Department of Children and Families conducted the investigations

Department of Children and Families authorized to enter into grant agreements with sheriffs of other counties beginning fiscal year 2000-2001 to perform child protective investigations

Act takes effect upon becoming a law
