Exempts home addresses, telephone numbers, dates of birth, and photographs of current or former directors, managers, supervisors, nurses, and clinical employees of addiction treatment facilities from public records requirements.

Extends exemption to spouses and children of covered personnel, including their home addresses, telephone numbers, photographs, dates of birth, places of employment, and names and locations of schools and day care facilities attended.

Requires non-employer custodial agencies to maintain exempt status only if the employee or employing agency submits a written request for maintenance of the exemption.

Exemption applies to information held by agencies before, on, or after the effective date and is subject to sunset review, with repeal scheduled for October 2, 2023, unless reenacted by the Legislature.

Effective July 1, 2018; Legislature finds exemption necessary to protect personnel and families from potential harm from disgruntled individuals receiving substance abuse treatment services.
