Creates Section 943.087, Florida Statutes, requiring law enforcement agencies to collect and report information on incidents where officers use deadly force resulting in serious bodily injury or death.

Law enforcement agencies must submit collected information to the Department of Law Enforcement within 15 days after the end of each calendar quarter using a standardized form provided by the department.

Requires collection of detailed information including characteristics of the officer and subject, incident date/time/location, type of force used, injuries or deaths, subject resistance, weapons involved, nonlethal efforts attempted, and case outcomes including trials and settlements.

Department of Law Enforcement must develop and maintain a database in consultation with the Florida Sheriffs Association and Florida Police Chiefs Association, retaining all reported information for at least 10 years.

Effective date is July 1, 2018.
