Authorizes use of dynamic message signs on state highways to post alerts about hit-and-run incidents resulting in serious bodily injury to pedestrians to assist law enforcement in locating suspects.

Permits alerts to include complete or partial license plate numbers, vehicle make/style/color, and suspect identity information.

Defines "hit and run" as an incident where a motor vehicle driver involved in an accident fails to stop at the scene.

Defines "serious bodily injury" as injury involving substantial risk of death, serious permanent disfigurement, protracted loss or impairment of body function, or second or third degree burns or fractures.

Effective date is July 1, 2018.
