Amends section 849.16, Florida Statutes to revise the definition of "slot machine or device" to include any machine, device, system, or network of devices activated by money, coins, account numbers, codes, or other objects/information that operates based on skill, chance, or unpredictable outcomes

Expands the definition to cover devices regardless of whether they provide a preview of the outcome or whether the outcome is known, displayed, or capable of being known to the user

Includes within the definition devices that allow users to receive money, credit, tokens, or things of value, or purchase subsequently displayed outcomes with monetary value regardless of whether the value equals, exceeds, or is less than the purchase cost

Covers devices that provide additional chances or rights to use the machine, including those available for free play that may also deliver merchandise, entertainment, or other things of value

Explicitly includes devices regulated as slot machines under chapter 551, Florida Statutes, and takes effect July 1, 2018
