Amends Florida Statutes section 790.06 to authorize churches, synagogues, and other religious institutions to allow concealed weapons or firearms licensees to carry firearms on their property for purposes of safety, security, personal protection, or other lawful purposes.

Permits religious institutions to authorize firearm carrying on property they own, rent, lease, borrow, or lawfully use.

Does not modify existing prohibitions on firearm carry in other locations such as police stations, courthouses, schools, airports, and establishments serving alcohol.

Maintains that concealed weapons licensees cannot be prohibited from carrying or storing firearms in vehicles for lawful purposes.

Takes effect July 1, 2018.
